Last year at Google I/O 2021, the company announced a new security/privacy feature for the Google app.
The feature allows you to delete the Google Search history of the last 15 minutes with a single tap.
No need to ponder with security and privacy settings inside the Google app.
Now available on both iOS and Android devices, the “Single tap to remove 15 minute Google Search history” feature helps users to stay secure and private with these online activities.
Wiping your search history is sort of like wiping your browsing history, but Google stores search history to your account in the cloud.
It is worth noting that the feature will delete Search history across your Google account, not just from the smartphone you are accessing the feature from.
Also to be noted is, Google has not yet confirmed whether it will bring this feature to desktop.
Follow the steps listed below to try this out
- Open Google App on your smartphone.
- Tap on your Google display picture at top right corner of the screen.
- From the menu, tap “Delete last 15 minutes” option.
- After this, you will see a message at bottom of your screen saying “Deleting history. Changes will show in your account soon”.
That’s it.
Last 15 minutes Google Search history has been deleted across your Google account for all devices.
