Dominos India data breach appears in the Dark Web

Woah, 180 million customer data compromised

Jubilant Foodworks, the owner of Dominos India has notified its customers about the data breach incident that took place on March 24 which leaked its customer data, including their personal details such as mailing addresses, mobile numbers, and much more.

The company disclosed this security breach last month to the media and news outlets.

Data available in the Dark Web

This latest development comes just days after hackers created a search engine on the Dark Web to let anyone look at the customer details of Domino’s India by using their phone numbers or email addresses.

The hackers have claimed that the search engine included data of 180 million Domino’s India customers.

The company’s email sent to customers reads,

Jubilant Foodworks experienced an information security incident on 24th March 2021 wherein our systems were attacked by a hacker. We moved quickly to contain the breach and hired an external agency to do an impact assessment.

A formal complaint is also raised with relevant authorities and a complaint has been filed with the Cyber Crimes cell. They have also hired a global forensic agency to look into the security issue.

The security incident took place in March and was confirmed by Jubilant Foodworks in April, as soon as it was put on sale on the dark Web. However, it ultimately informed customers after the hackers created the search engine with the data that was earlier available for purchase.

The company has reiterated again that no data pertaining to the financial information of any customers was compromised but the hackers have mentioned on the search engine that they would make payment details and employee files public soon.

The severity of this attack will become more big if hackers start disclosing the financial side of things.

We will keep you updated on this, if we get further information. So keep an eye on this article time to time.
